Sala's Camp, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Sala’s Camp is located in the center of the most southern sector of the Maasai Mara National Reserve; boasting a unique position overlooking the Sand River towards Tanzania and the ‘Northern Corridor’ where nearly 2 million wildebeest migrate annually from Tanzania into Kenya, then back again.

It took the owners of The Safari Collection four years to seek out the perfect spot for Sala’s Camp. This area of the Mara had long been shut off to visitors, but as the camp sprang to life, the rhino conservation teams assisted with extensive wildlife monitoring, making the area a safe haven for visitors and wildlife. Today the plains surrounding Sala’s Camp are home to prolific birdlife, lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo and more, plus a growing rhino population.
